The Colombian peso has recently strengthened significantly against the US dollar, driving consumption but impacting exports and remittances.

The Colombian peso experienced a marked appreciation, becoming the leading currency in Latin America during July 2026. This strengthening has stimulated domestic consumption as the currency gains value against the dollar.
